Malala

By Sofia Riyadi

On October 9, 2012, Malala was riding a special bus for children who went to school at her father's school. Suddenly the bus was blocked by two young Taliban men. One of the young men climbed the back of the bus. "Which one is Malala?", Said one of the young Taliban men. Malala also tells herself. After that the young Taliban shot Malala twice. The first is about Malala's left forehead and the second is about his neck. Malala also lost consciousness in full of blood.

Back when Afghanistan fought the British, the Afghan soldiers began to lose their hope. At that time there was a girl who witnessed the decline of his army. So he went up the hill and motivated the soldiers. The hopeless soldier began to pay attention to him. With full motivation from the girl the soldiers began to fight again. Throughout the war the girl motivated them, until she was shot and died in the middle of the battlefield. The girl's name is Malalai.

This is the origin of the name of the youngest Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Malala Yousafzai. Malala was born in Mingora, Swat Valley, Pakistan, July 12, 1997. His father was named Ziauddin Yousafzai, and his mother was named Tor Pekai Yousafzai, with his two younger brothers, Khushal and Atal. From the Pusthun tribe. Like the majority of Pakistanis, they are Sunni Muslims.

Malala can win the youngest Nobel Peace Prize, because she has championed education for children who have been deprived of education, especially girls. His struggle had been carried out by him early on. When he was 12 years old Malala had sent a daily writing or diary to the BBC, to recount the daily events in the Swat Valley when the Taliban took control of their homes. His writing was widely distributed and his name was disguised as "Gul Makai". Malala dared to do this because she was a child. It is impossible for the Taliban to kill a child. Thus Malala made use of that gap.

But after that there was a war between Pakistani government forces and the Taliban. Some residents fled, as did the Malala family. One of the places they occupied while evacuating was Abbattabad. In the war against the Taliban, many young people are trained for suicide bombing missions. Finally the Pakistani government soldiers can drive out the Taliban. But a few months later came a threatening letter from the Taliban addressed to Malala's father. Until finally what was shot was not Malala's father, but Malala himself.

After being shot, Malala was immediately rushed to the Military Hospital in Peshawar. Malala was operated on to remove bullets lodged in his head. Luckily Malala can be saved. In order to get more intensive care, Malala was flown to England. In England, Malala received treatment at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. There Malala was given therapy so that her nerves could return to how they used to be. But still Malala still struggles with little things like blinking her left eye.

After Malala was finished being treated, on July 12, 2013, Malala addressed the Youth Forum Forum. Malala gave a speech about the right of girls to go to school. After the speech, everyone stood up and applauded Malala. Thanks to his struggle, in 2014 Malala won the Nobel Peace Prize at the age of 17.

Malala inspired me because Malala dared to fight for the right of girls to get the same education as men. Malala also does not have the anger even as small as the atom to the person who shot him. I also like his phrase, "One child, one teacher, one book, one pen can change the world!"
